Terms of Service

End-user license agreement · Effective October 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Steingard Financial ("Steingard", "we", "us"). They govern your use of Cobble Accounting ("Cobble"), including the websites at cobbleaccounting.com and its subdomains. By signing in to Cobble or connecting a QuickBooks Online company to it, you agree to these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.

1. The service

Cobble is bookkeeping software that Steingard provides to its clients. It connects to QuickBooks Online so that Steingard can sync, review, categorize, reconcile and close your books, ask you questions about transactions, and, with a person's approval, write corrections back to QuickBooks.

Cobble supports the bookkeeping services Steingard provides to you. The scope, fees and responsibilities for those services are set out in your engagement agreement with Steingard. If that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the engagement agreement controls.

2. License

While these Terms are in effect, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cobble for your business's internal bookkeeping. You may not:

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission. You're responsible for activity under your account. Links we send for answering questions are private to you, so please don't forward them.

4. Connecting QuickBooks Online

When you connect, you authorize Steingard, through Cobble, to access your QuickBooks Online company as described in our Privacy Policy. QuickBooks Online is provided by Intuit Inc. under Intuit's own terms, and we aren't responsible for its availability or behavior. You can disconnect at any time from the Apps section in QuickBooks Online, or by asking us to disconnect it. Disconnecting revokes Cobble's access right away.

Cobble writes changes to QuickBooks only after a person approves them. If a transaction was edited in QuickBooks after we read it, Cobble stops instead of overwriting the edit.

5. Your data

You own your business data, including data from QuickBooks Online. You grant us permission to use it only to provide Cobble and our bookkeeping services to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information and answers you give us.

6. AI-assisted features

Some categorization suggestions may be produced by AI models. Suggestions may be wrong. They are never applied automatically: a person reviews and confirms each one. Cobble is a bookkeeping tool and does not give tax, legal or investment advice.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Cobble available and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, failures, or problems with third-party services such as QuickBooks Online. We may improve or change Cobble over time. If a change materially reduces what Cobble does for you, we'll tell you in advance.

8. Disclaimers

Except as stated in these Terms or your engagement agreement, Cobble is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Steingard won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of Cobble. Steingard's total liability for any claim relating to Cobble is limited to the fees you paid Steingard in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

10. Termination

You can stop using Cobble and disconnect QuickBooks at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or your engagement with Steingard ends. When access ends, we revoke our QuickBooks connection. Records are handled as described in the Privacy Policy, and Sections 5, 8, 9 and 12 continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date and notify you before they take effect. If you keep using Cobble after that, you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.
